San Luís Potosí, Mexico
| About a million people live in San Luís Potosí, the capitol of the state with the same name. The city is located about 5 hours to the north of Mexico City, right in the heart of colonial Mexico. It was built as the surrounding areas became more and more popular communities for mining, and it was in fact the Capitol of Mexico for a brief period in the 1800's. I loved the city for its multiple plazas and parks as well as its markets and large pedestrian streets. (Do I sound like a travel brochure?) I also loved it because it is not on the map of tourist attractions for us Americans. No offense! |
