Tim Silverman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years experience working with children and families as both a teacher at independent schools, and as a therapist. After receiving his B.A. at Haverford College, Tim worked as a Spanish teacher and coach at prominent independent schools in both New York and Maryland. He then returned to graduate school in 2001, and earned an M.S. in Social Work at Columbia University. Since then, he has spent the last 6 years in full time employment working with children in elementary, middle, and high schools. He has pursued post-graduate training in various therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral treatments for anxiety, depression, and disruptive behavior disorders. He has completed training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for adolescents. Finally, he has also trained at that Ackerman Institute for the Family where he honed his skills in working with families and couples.
